🇨🇭 Switzerland: Gjon’s Tears Performs “Tout l’univers” Live For The First Time

The Swiss entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Gjon’s Tears, has performed his entry for the first time live.

Gjon’s Tears has appeared as a special guest in the Spanish private channel Telecinco. There, he performed his song at the TV show “Rocío: Contar la verdad para seguir viva”.

Indeed, Mediaset, the owner of Telecinco, chose “Tout l’univers” as the official soundtrack of the documentary series with the same name as the show, which focuses on the life of Rocío Carrasco, daughter of the famous Spanish singer Rocío Jurado.

Furthermore, Rocío Jurado has links to the Eurovision Song Contest, as she tried to represent Spain in the 1971 edition. She participated in the preselection, “Pasaporte a Dublín”, which was won by Karina, with “En un mundo nuevo”

Gjon’s tears will sing “Tout l’univers” at the second half of the second semifinal, on May 20th.

Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest

Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 a contest that they won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”, it wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. At the contest in Dublin, it was Celine Dion with “Ne partez pas sans moi” who beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In 2019 Luca Hänni brought Switzerland their best result at the Eurovision Song Contest in 26 years. The singer who performed “She Got Me”, finished 4th in the Grand Final.
