Efendi has shared a short snippet of her upcoming entry for this years Eurovision Song Contest.
This year iTV made an open call to submit songs for Efendi who was reselected to represent Azerbaijan in Rotterdam for the second year running. The search for the song was completed after one song was chosen upon receiving about 229 song submissions, only six of those songs were sent to the professional Focus Group, where one lucky song was chosen as Azerbaijan’s entry.
The name of the song has still not yet been revealed but the teaser does hint “Game of desire” could be the title or part of the song lyrics. If this is the title it would not match any of the six published names of songs that were revealed in February. It is possible one of six songs was since renamed or a song outside of the final six was chosen later on.
The title of the six known songs were revealed by INFE Azerbaijan, the song are:
- Mata Hari
- Ratata
- When I’m gone
- Manifesto
- Breathing You
- Owe You Pretty
The song will be released In a matter of days along with the music video.
Efendi was set to represent Azerbaijan last May in Rotterdam, with “Cleopatra” but was unable to due to the cancellation of the contest because of Coronavirus Pandemic.
