In Estonia, a total of 291,000 viewers watched the Grand Final of Eesti Laul.
The Grand Final of Eesti Laul 2021 was the most-watched television broadcast in Estonia last week. Overall interest in the competition increased over 2020 with an average of 291,000 viewers following this year’s final up 19,000 viewers over 2020.
The show which was broadcast in two halves had the following ratings:
- Part One – 267,000 viewers – 22.5% share
- Part Two – 291,000 viewers – 24.6% share
The results of the first round of voting were as follows (acts that qualified to the second round of voting in bold) :
- Egert Milder – “Free Again” – 12th place
- Suited Tüdrukud – “Heaven’s Not That Far Tonight” – 7th place
- Hans Nayna – “One By One” – 10th place
- Ivo Linna, Robert Linna, Supernova -“Ma olen siin” – 11th place
- Karl Killing – “Kiss Me” – 8th place
- Uku Suviste – “The Lucky One” – Super finalist
- Sissi – “Time” – Super finalist
- Jüri Pootsmann – “Magnus melanhoolia” – Super finalist
- Redel – “Tartu” – 9th place
- Koit Toome – “We Could Have Been Beautiful” – 4th place
- Andrei Zevakin & Pluuto – “Wingman” – 5th place
- Kadri Voorand – “Energy” – 6th place
The second round of voting saw only the public vote being used to determine the winner. The results of the super final are as follows:
- Uku Suviste – “The Lucky One” – Winner
- Sissi – Time – 2nd place
- Jüri Pootsmann – Magus melanhoolia – 3rd place
Uku will perform his song “The Lucky One” in the first half of the second Semi-Final, to be held on the 20th May 2021.

Estonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 alongside six other countries. At the contest in Dublin they were represented by Silvi Vrait, who finished 2nd last scoring just 2 points. In 2001 Estonia won the Eurovision Song Contest for the only time to date. They were represented by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton & 2XL, who performed the song “Everybody” and took a surprise victory in Copenhagen. After the success of the late-90s and early 00s, Estonia failed to qualify for the final from 2004-2008. In 2009 Estonia launched a new selection show, Eesti Laul, and has since qualified for the final six out of ten attempts.
