Melodi Grand Prix 2021 finalist Raylee is to alter her performance of her song “Hero” and responds to comments about her heat one performance.
Melodi Grand Prix 2021 finalist Raylee has said in a recent interview with local news outlet VG that she is set to make some changes to her final performance of “Hero” in this week final. The iconic shower is set to stay while being accompanied by new choreography.
“Some will love it more, while others will hate it”
Raylee has teased some of her new dance routines in a recent Instagram post, showing her rehearsing the updated choreography.

Raylee also revealed that due to the many rehearsals done before the first live show she contracted cystitis due to the amount of cold water involved in her performance. The singer also explained she only has a limited window in which to pull the chain which releases the water shower onto the singer. Revealing that on over eight occasions the water did not release in time.
“I tested eight times without it working. The water did not come out. I was so nervous, and it stressed me a lot“
Raylee Spent much time acclimatising to being wet by spending many hours in this state in order to be fully prepared for her live MGP performance.
The singer also responded to negative comments about her previous semi-final performance, which was seen as overly sexual by some commentators. Raylee expressed disappointment that not enough focus was being placed on the talent of her self and dancers involved in creating the performance. Despite some negative comments overall the reception to “Hero” has generally been positive with the song ultimately winning the second heat of MGP.
Norwegian broadcaster NRK has now revealed the order in which the twelve finalists will perform in the Melodi Grand Prix on Saturday. Raylee Will be the second to perform in this week’s final.
The running order is as follows:

- Raylee – “Hero”
- Stavangerkameratene – “Who I Am”
- KIIM – “My Lonely Voice”
- Blåsemafian feat. Hazel – “Let Loose”
- Emmy – “Witch Woods”
- TIX – “Fallen Angel”
- Kaja Rode – “Feel Again”
- Rein Alexander – “Eyes Wide Open”
- IMERIKA – “I Can’t Escape”
- KEiiNO – “Monument”
- Jorn – “Faith Bloody Faith”
The final will take place this Saturday evening. The winner will go on to represent Norway at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Returning to Melodi Grand Prix this year is KEiiNO, who represented the country at the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv.

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
