IMERIKA has qualified from the fifth and final semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021. broadcast this evening from Norway.
X has earned a place in the Grand Final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 following the show’s fifth and final semi-final this evening. Tonight’s show featured four artists competing in two duels. with the winner of each duel competing in a ‘Gold Duel’.
Competing in the first duel were:
- TuVeia – “Bli med meg på gar’n” (Join me on the train)
- RIVER – “Coming home”
Competing in the second duel were:
- Ane.Fin – “Walking In My Sleep”
- IMERIKA – “I Can’t Esacpe”
RIVER and IMERIKA then went head-to-head in the ‘Gold Duel’, with IMERIKA winning a place in the grand final, which will take place on 20 February.
Also performing tonight was Rein Alexander, who has a pre-qualified place in the final with his song “Eyes Wide Open”.
This evening’s results were determined solely by public vote. The three acts that failed to qualify will go through to the Second Chance show on 15 February, where they will compete for the last remaining place in the final.

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
