Rai has ruled that Fedez & Francesca Michielin will be able to compete in Sanremo 2021 following an investigation.

The Italian broadcaster has decided that Fedez & Francesca Michielin can still compete in Sanremo 2021. The investigation was launched after Fedez posted a snippet of their song for the contest on social media. On Saturday Fedez published a 10 second snippet of โ€œChiamami per nomeโ€ to his Instagram feed.

According to the rules of the competition:

All songs be new be new. The 26 songs performed by the Campioni artists must be new at the time of registration for Sanremo 2020 and remain so until their first performance during the festival.

It was determined that the publication of a snippet and swift removal of the clip did not break the rules of the competition. Rai expressed a serious condemnation of the incident to ensure no other artist releases snippets of their song.
