RTVE has announced Tony Aguilar and Eva Mora as the Spanish commentators for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Tony Aguilar and Eva Mora will be commentating on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 for RTVE. The duo return to the commentary booth having commentated on Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light in May of this year. Tony and Eva will have the assistance of Victor Escudero who is known for his video content for Eurovision.tv.
Tony is a DJ and presenter and has been commentating on the contest for the past two years. Eva Mora is a journalist who has reported on the contest since 2012.
Spain is being represented by Soleá with the song ‘Palante’, the Spanish performance was recorded earlier this week in Madrid.
Who is Soleá?
Nine-year-old Soleá Fernandez Moreno is from Sevilla, Spain. The singer comes from one of the most important flamenco families in the country (the Farruco), and she made her singing debut in a family show at the La Maestranza theatre when she was young. At four years old, she began dancing and acting, starring in Navidad En Familia.
Soleá was internally selected by RTVE to represent her country at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her song “Palante” was composed by César G. Ross, Hajar Sbihi, and Bruno Valverde. The song was written to spread positivity during the times of the Covid-19 crisis.

Spain first took part in the contest in 2003 and participated every year between then and 2006. In 2004, María Isabel brought Spain their only victory so far with “Antes muerta que sencilla”. After an absence of 13 years, Spain returned to the contest last year with “Marte” by Melani García. Spain have finished in the top 5 in all 5 of their attempts.
