Moldova debuted in Eurovision in 2005, while it is still looking for victory in the Song Contest, it is best known for its memorable performances at the competition.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2005. It was in Kyiv, Ukraine that Moldova took their best result to date in 2017 when Sunstroke Project finished 3rd.

Moldova withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025. Teleradio Moldova announced its withdrawal following the audition round of its national selection. The broadcaster explained that the decision was made following a detailed analysis of the current situation, as well as the economic, administrative and artistic challenges.”
Moldova and other Eurovision family events
Moldova has participated in two other Eurovision family events following its Eurovision Song Contest debut.
Eurovision Young Musicians
Moldova made its one appearance in Eurovision Young Musicians in 2014 when the competition was held in Cologne, Germany. Livyka Shtirbu-Sokolov was selected by TRM to compete in the contest, she opened the final playing the piano but was not among the top three.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Moldova has competed in four editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The country made its debut in 2010 in the contest in Minsk, Belarus and competed for the last time in 2013 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
