Serbia: “Svadba Velika” Lyrics Changed After Request From RTS

“Svadba Velika” which is set to compete in Beovizija will have its lyrics changed, as previous lyrics incited violence.

The Serbian national broadcaster has confirmed that the lyrics for “Svadba Velika” will be changed for Beovizija. The broadcaster requested the change after the previous lyrics for the song spoke of a groom threatening to murder the bride’s whole family if she refuses to marry him.

This year’s Beovizija will take place from 28th February to 1st March, with two semi-finals and a grand final. Twenty-four songs will compete to represent Serbia in Rotterdam. They are:

10. Bojana Mašković – “Kao Music” (Like Music)
11. Ivana Jordan – “Vila” (Fairy)
12. Bane Mojićević – “Svet sa Prokletija” (The World From Prokletije)
13. Ivan Kurtić ft. Geapsy Train – “Sabajle” (At Dawn)
14. Hurricane – “Hasta La Vista”
15. Milan Bujaković feat. Olivera Popović – “Niti” (Threads)
16. Nenad Ćeranić – “Veruj u sebe” (Believe in Yourself)
17. Bora Dugić i Balkubano – “Svadba velika” (Big Wedding)
18. Ana Milenković – “Tajna” (Secret)
19. Srđan Lazić – “Duša i telo” (Body and Soul)
20. Lazar Živanović – “Puklo je nebo” (The Sky Parted)
21. Milica Mišić – “Kiša” (Rain)
22. Thea Devy – “Sudnji dan” (Judgement Day)
23. Biljana Đurđević – “Raj” (Heaven)
24. Aleksa Vučković – “Samo mi kaži” (Just Tell Me)

Last year Serbia were represented by Nevena Bozovic with the song “Kruna”. They finished in 18th place in the grand final in Tel Aviv.
