ERR have announced the names of the interval acts that will appear in the 2nd semi-final of Eesti Laul 2020, Estonia’s Eurovision selection show.
With less than a week to go until Eesti Laul 2020 begins in Estonia, ERR have announced the names of the interval acts that will be appearing in the 2nd semi-final. The Estonian group Black Velvet, a group made up of Lauri Liiv, Sulev Lõhmus, and Sven Lõhmus, will feature during the show.
Sven Lõhmus will be a recognisable name for Eurovision fans, as he has written 4 of Estonia’s previous Eurovision entries – “Let’s Get Loud” (2005), “Rändajad” (2009), “Rockefeller Street” (2011) and “Verona” (2017).
The 2nd semi-final will also pay tribute to the contest’s 65th anniversary year through a performance from a super-group of Estonian backing singers who have appeared on the Eurovision stage. The group will be made up of Kaire Vilgats, Dagmar Oja and Rolf Roosalu, and they will present a song about Estonia’s history at the Eurovision Song Contest.
ERR have previously announced that Estonia’s 2000 entrant Ines will be an interval act in the 1st semi-final, along with rap-group 5MINUS.

Last year, Estonia were represented by Victor Crone with the song “Storm”. They finished in 20th place in the grand final.
Estonia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 alongside six other countries. At the contest in Dublin they were represented by Silvi Vrait, who finished 2nd last scoring just 2 points. In 2001 Estonia won the Eurovision Song Contest for the only time to date. They were represented by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton & 2XL, who performed the song “Everybody” and took a surprise victory in Copenhagen. After the success of the late-90s and early 00s, Estonia failed to qualify for the final from 2004-2008. In 2009 Estonia launched a new selection show, Eesti Laul, and has since qualified for the final six out of ten attempts.
