Leyla Quliyeva returns as Head of Delegation of Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Host of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest Leyla Quliyeva (left in image) has returned as Head of Delegation for Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest. Leyla Quliyeva returns to the role which she first took on for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018.
Apart from her role as one of the three hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, Leyla has been involved in the contest in a number of different roles. In 2019 she was one of the jurors for Azerbaijan, the nations spokesperson in 2008 and host of their national selection in 2011 and 2012.
Chingiz finished 8th in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 for Azerbaijan. The singer who performed “Truth” in Tel Aviv, brought Azerbaijan their best result in the competition since 2013.

Azerbaijan debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, they were represented by Elnur & Samir with the song “Day After Day”, they finished 8th in the final. In 2011 Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Ell & Nikki and their song “Running Scared”. The song scored a total of 221 points, receiving only three sets of 12 points from Malta, Russia and Turkey. In 2018 Azerbaijan failed to qualify for the final for the first time, having previously had a 100% qualification record.
