Tickets for Spain’s Eurovision pre-party will go on sale tomorrow afternoon.

PreParty ES returns to Spain for its fourth consecutive year in 2020 with the slogan “Like the First Time”. The slogan honours the 65th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, and tickets for the event will be available to purchase tomorrow (Wednesday 18th December) at 12:00 CET. The welcome party will take place on Friday 10th April, in which several special guests will perform at a mini-concert. The main event will take place a day later on Saturday 11th April at Sala La Riviera, Madrid.

Tickets will be available to purchase here.

At this year’s event, a record twenty-two artists from the Eurovision Song Contest line-up were in attendance, as well as a further 15 special guest performers.

The ESPre-Party was held for the first time in 2017 and was deemed a huge success. It was granted “Official Related Event” status by the EBU, giving it the same status as the Eurovision preview concerts held in Amsterdam, London, Riga, Moscow and Tel Aviv. This made the event the first official Eurovision Song Contest related event to be held in Spain since the contest was hosted in Madrid in 1969.

Spain debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has competed annually since. Spain has won the contest on two occasions the first being in 1968 and the second time in 1969. 1969 is the only year where more than one song has won the contest. The 1969 contest saw a four-way tie between Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Since 2000 Spain has only managed to finish in the top 10 on five occasions, the last time being in 2014 with Ruth Lorenzo. However, the country has finished 20th or below on ten occasions, the worst placement being 26th in 2017.
