Bulgaria currently have no plans to return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Bulgarian broadcaster BNT took to Twitter yesterday to answer a question which multiple Eurovision fans had been asking since the end of the 2019 contest – will Bulgaria take part in the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest? The broadcaster revealed that at this stage, their main priority is their participation at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. They recently revealed that they will be represented by Victoria at next year’s contest in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and they are already working on their plans for the 2021 contest.
At this stage our priority is the consolidation of our participation at Eurovision as we are already working on our plans for 2021. If circumstances allow, participation in other contests could be possible but for the moment it’s not under discussion. https://t.co/kr7M90Cdfj

Bulgaria last participated at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2016, where they finished in 9th place with Lidia Ganeva and her song “Magical Day”.
Bulgaria debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. The country has never won the contest, and their best entry comes from 2014, when Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim and their song “Planet of the Children” placed 2nd with 147 points. Bulgaria then went on to host the 2015 contest, in the capital Sofia. Their worst result was in 2008, when Krestiana Kresteva and her song “Edna Mechta” placed 15th with 15 points. Bulgaria have withdrawn multiple times from the contest, and were absent from 2009-2010, and 2012-2013.
