Buddy Vedder is set to commentate on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 for AVROTROS.
Buddy Vedder will be guiding viewers in the Netherlands through the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Buddy is taking over from Jan Smit who announced that he is taking a break from television, radio and performing until the end of the year.
Buddy is an actor, presenter, dancer and singer who has presented shows on AVROTROS and RTL. He will be well known to younger viewers in the Netherlands having presented Kids TOP 20 between 2015 and 2018 on NPO Zapp.
Who is Matheu?
Matheu Hinzen is 13 years old and from the town of Weert in Limburg. Before becoming a singer Matheu has acted in a number of films including Bloed, zweet & tranen and De familie Slim. He won Junior Songfestival with the song “Dans met jou” scoring 12 points from each of the three juries.

The Netherlands debuted at the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. To date the country has only won the competition once. Their only victory came in 2009 when Ralf Mackenbach performed “Click Clack” scoring a total of 121 points, this was just 5 points more than runners-up Armenia and Russia. The Netherlands narrowly lost the contest in 2011 when Rachel performed “Teenager”, she lost by 5 points. The Netherlands worst result came in 2015 when Shalisa finished in 15th place out of 17 competing countries.
