Demi Lovato and Dan Stevens will star alongside Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams and Pierce Brosnan in Netflix’s “Eurovision” movie.
It has been revealed that singer and actress Demi Lovato and “Legion” star Dan Stevens will join the star-studded cast for Netflix’s original film “Eurovision”. Demi celebrated her birthday yesterday and shared a post on her Instagram account featuring Will Ferrell, who was the first actor to be announced as starring in the film. In the post, the actor announced that Demi would be joining the cast.
Demi will be playing the role of Katiana, one of the most angelic singers in all of Iceland, whereas Dan Stevens is set to play Russian “Eurovision” contestant Alexander Lemtov.
Already announced as starring in the film is Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as aspiring Icelandic musicians, and Pierce Brosnan, who will play the role of Will’s father and “the most handsome man in Iceland”.
Filming for this project commenced in 2018 during the contest in Lisbon, and continued a few months ago in Tel Aviv during the 2019 edition. The crew will travel to London for more filming, and it’s also been reported that further filming will take place in Húsavík, Iceland in the upcoming months.
The director of the project is David Dobkin who also directed Wedding Crashers, which featured McAdams. The film will be set around the Eurovision Song Contest and the reported working title is simply, “Eurovision.”
