Malta: Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 Finalists Revealed

PBS, the Maltese national broadcaster, has revealed the 12 finalists that will compete in Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

The 12 finalists are:

• Aiden Aquilina Cohen – “Loved Either Way”
• Francesca Borg – “Seven Nation Army”
• Shania Cauchi – “O Mio Babbino Caro”
• Maya Cauchi – “Creep (Postmodern Jukebox)”
• Leah Cauchi – “Illejla” (Tonight)
• Yarin Coleiro – “The Power of Love”
• Martina Cutajar – “Dynasty”
• Eliana Gomez Blanco – “Sto Male”
• Yulan Law – “Speechless”
• Amy Pace – “Rise Up”
• Eksenia Sammut – “Always Remember Us This Way”
• Kristy Spiteri – “Never Enough”

Applicants for Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 could apply with either a cover song or an original song. Of the 12 finalists, only Aiden Aquilina Cohen and Leah Cauchi will sing original songs. The remaining finalists will perform cover versions. Aiden Aquilina Cohen, Yarin Coleiro, Eliana Gomez Blanco and Kristy Spiteri all took part in last year’s Maltese selection.

Footage of each of the finalists will be shown on TV and social media throughout the first 2 weeks of August. An online voting window will then be open until August 13. The winner of the selection will be decided by both the jury and public televote and will be revealed on August 20.

Ela Mangion represented Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk with the song “Marchin’ On”. She finished in 5th place with 181 points, 138 of which came from the jury vote and 43 from the online vote.
