Joci Pápai has today revealed a few details of what viewers can expect from his performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
Joci Pápai has revealed that he will be alone on stage for his performance of “Az én apám” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The singer explained at a press conference organised by MTVA today that:

He will be joined by two backing vocalists in Tel Aviv Petra Katona and Ferenc Feng Ya Ou. The two vocalists will be off stage for the performance in Israel.
As previously stated the staging of Joci’s performance at Eurovision will feature images of fathers and people with their fathers. Of the hundreds of submissions that were received by the Hungarian broadcaster, fifty have been selected for the performance.
Who is Joci Pápai?
Joci Pápai is returning to the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time this year. The singer represented Hungary for the first time in 2017 with the song “Origo”, the song finished 8th in the final scoring 200 points.
He returns this year with the song “Az én apám” (My Father). He won the latest series of A Dal, having consitently performed well with the juries throughout the selection process.

Hungary debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, they were represented by Friderika Bayer and the song “Kinek mondjam el vetkeimet”. She went on to finish in 4th place scoring a total of 122 points and four sets of 12 points. This result remains’ Hungary’s best in their history in the contest. Hungary participated from 1994 to 1994 before withdrawing until 2005, the country didn’t return again until 2008. Hungary then once again withdrew in 2010 before returning in 2011. Since their return in 2011 Hungary has qualified for the final every year.
