iTV will reveal the date on which their song and singer for Eurovision 2019 will be presented on March 5.
The Azerbaijani delegation has confirmed to INFE Azerbaijan that on March 5 they will release a teaser of when the nations Eurovision 2019 entry will be presented. Neither the name of the singer or the song that will represent Azerbaijan in Tel Aviv will be revealed by iTV on Tuesday.
Four artists are known to have been shortlisted by iTV for the contest in Israel. The artists are:
- Samira Efendi
- Chingiz Mustafayev
- Tofig Hajiyev
- Leman
The four singers have also according to INFE Azerbaijan recordeded demo version of potential songs for Tel Aviv. These demos were then presented to a jury at iTV who had the final decision on who will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2019.
Azerbaijan held an open call for songs for this years Eurovision Song Contest. It has also held an internal castings process to determine the singers who have been shortlisted to represent the nation in Tel Aviv.

Azerbaijan debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, they were represented by Elnur & Samir with the song “Day After Day”, they finished 8th in the final. In 2011 Azerbaijan won the Eurovision Song Contest represented by Ell & Nikki and their song “Running Scared”. The song scored a total of 221 points, receiving only three sets of 12 points from Malta, Russia and Turkey. In 2018 Azerbaijan failed to qualify for the final for the first time, having previously had a 100% qualification record.
