Serbia is set to select for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on March 3, with Beovizija featuring semi-finals for the first time in a decade.
RTS has revealed this evening that final of Beovizija 2019 will take place on March 3. The Serbian broadcaster has also announced that for the first time since 2009 the contest will feature semi-finals.
Two semi-finals will be held on February 27 and 28. In each semi-final twelve acts will be competing, with just six making it through to the final on March 3. The 24 competing artists and songs are:

- Goga Stanić – Ti znaš da ne znaš me (You know that you don’t know me)
- Majdan – Budim te (I’m waking you)
- Sofija Perić – Aritmija (Arrhythmia)
- Ana Popović – Lutaš (You’re crazy)
- Aleksandra Sekulić – Tugo (Sadness)
- Osvajači – Vatra i plamen (Fire and flame)

Nevena Božović represented Serbia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007, finishing third. Six years later, she represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, becoming the first person ever to enter both the junior and adult Eurovision Song Contest as a main artist. Snežana Berić, also known by her artistic name Extra Nena, was the last artist to represent Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest, doing so in 1992.
Beovizija was held between 2003 and 2009, and was used to select the Serbian participants in the Serbia & Montenegro selection in 2004, 2005 and 2006, before being used to select Serbia’s singer for the contest up to 2009. In 2018, the competition returned to RTS having been axed by the channel at the end of 2009.

Serbia have competed as an independent nation in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007, and have seen great success in the competition. Their first entry in 2007, Marija Šerifović’s “Molitva”, won the contest in Helsinki with 268 points, making Serbia’s debut one of the most successful in Eurovision history. From then up to their year’s break in 2014, Serbia finished in the top 10 a further two times, including a 3rd place finish in 2012 with Željko Joksimović’s “Nije ljubav stvar”. They have only failed to qualify for the final on three occasions, the most recent being in 2017 when Tijana Bogićević’s entry “In Too Deep” finished in 11th place in its semi-final in Kyiv.
