Andrzej Duda, the Polish President has congratulated Roksana Wegiel on winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

The President of Poland has congratulted Roksana Węgiel on winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus. Mr Duda also reiterated comments made by the Head of TVP in stating that Poland will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019. He took to Twitter stating;

Roksana Węgiel won the Eurovision Song Contest for children. Therefore, in the year 2019 the final of the Eurovision Song Contest for children will be in Poland. Dear Roksano, Congratulations to you and thank you!!! Beautifully representing Poland in the year 100-anniversary of regaining independence! Bravo!!!

Roksana Węgiel from Poland won with the song “Anyone I Want to Be”. She scored a total of 215 points beating runner up France by a total of 12 points. Poland came 7th in the jury vote with 79 points, but topped the online vote with 136 points.

The young singer is due to arrive back in Poland this afternoon.
