Live from Minsk: Junior Eurovision 2018 – Winners Press Conference

Poland has won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018, follow the winners press conference live from Minsk, Belarus.

The results were as follows:

  1. Poland – 215 points
  2. France – 202 points
  3. Australia – 201 points
  4. Malta – 182 points
  5. Ukraine – 181 points
  6. Kazakhstan – 171 points
  7. Italy – 151 points
  8. Georgia – 144 points
  9. Armenia – 125 points
  10. Russia – 122 points
  11. Belarus – 114 points
  12. FYR Macedonia – 99 points
  13. Netherlands – 91 points
  14. Israel – 81 points
  15. Ireland – 48 points
  16. Azerbaijan – 47 points
  17. Albania – 44 points
  18. Portugal – 42 points
  19. Serbia – 30 points
  20. Wales – 29 points

This is Poland’s first victory in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is also Poland’s first win in a Eurovision contest since winning Eurovision Young Dancers 2017.

18:45 CET – The press conference will begin shortly.

18:48 CET – We’re just waiting for Roksana to enter the press conference.

18:53 CET – We’re live on Instagram from the press conference, we’re just a couple of minutes away from the conference starting.

19:01 CET – Roksana enters the room with the Polish delegation.

19:04 CET – Jon Ola Sand congratulates the Polish participants on their performance, “they captured the hearts and minds of the jurors and the voters”.

19:05 CET – More than 1.2 million valid votes were received. This means Poland won with over 100,000 votes.

19:06 CET – Roksana is visibly so excited to have won this years contest.

19:07 CET – Roksana dedicates her victory to her country.

19:08 CET – Polish delegation posses for a photo in the press conference, with Roksana her dancers and the team from TVP.

19:09 CET – Apologies for the lack of updates, a lot of the questions and answers are entirely in Polish.

19:12 CET – It’s a true honour to win Junior Eurovision.

19:14 CET – I was nervous but really excited in the final moments of the voting.

19:15 CET – I hope that it will be in Poland next year, fingers crossed but maybe.

19:19 CET – Roksana congratulates all of her fans on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms for supporting her.

19:20 CET – The total number of votes that were received and validated has now been confirmed at 1,283,921.

19:22 CET – The press conference has now ended.
