Poland: Juliusz Kamil to Write the Polish Junior Eurovision Entry

Juliusz Kamil will be the writer of this years Polish entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk, Belarus.

Juliusz Kamil who has worked with this years Polish Junior Eurovision entrant x will be the writer of the nations entry for Belarus. This is not the first time that Juliusz Kamil has written a song for Roksana Wegiel. He wrote “Żyj“, which was released by Roksana earlier this year and has gone on to be viewed online over 8 million times.

Aside from his work as a songwriter Juliusz is a singer and has participated in a number of television contests. He was a finalist in the The Voice of Poland , The Voice of Switzerland and Must Be The Music – Tylko Muzyka; and the winner of Szansy Na Sukces. He currently runs MJK MUSIC which manages Roksana Wegiel.

Roksana Wegiel was internally selected by TVP to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is the first time the country has internally selected their entrant, as in previous years they held national selections. It has been reported that the low results of both 2016 and 2017 Polish entries led to this change.

Roksana is known for winning the first series of The Voice Kids in Poland, and has said this about her achievements:

“Winning The Voice Kids was an honour and a dream come true, but representing my country at Junior Eurovision is an actual honour. Dreaming and fighting for your dreams is worthy. Thanks for believing in me!”

Poland participated the inaugural edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. After two consecutive last-place finishes, they withdrew from the contest in 2005. After an absence of 13 years, Poland returned to the contest in 2016. Olivia Wieczorek finished 11th in Malta with “Nie zapomnij”, Poland’s best result in the contest to date. 2.2 million people in Poland watched the 2016 contest, making up the majority of the total 3.9 million viewing figure.
