“Higher Ground” by Rasmussen has topped the third episode of De Eurovisa, the Finnish preview show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Svenska YLE has aired the third episode of their Eurovision preview show De Eurovisa this evening. The show sees four jury members including review all of the songs in this years Eurovision Song Contest. Each juror gives the songs a score of between 1 and 10. On the jury in this episode were; Eva Frantz, Johan Lindroos , Jennie Storbackan and Paradise Oskar (Finland 2011).
The results of the first show were as follows:
- Denmark – Rasmussen – Higher Ground (7, 9, 6, 10) – 32 points
- Netherlands – Waylon – Outlaw in Em’ (9, 4, 10, 6) – 29 points
- Ireland – Ryan O’Shaughnessy – Together (5, 6, 7, 8) – 26 points
- Moldova – DoReDos – My Lucky Day (10, 8, 3, 5) – 26 points
- Australia – Jessica Mauboy – We Got Love (6, 9, 5, 4) – 24 points
- Cyprus – Eleni Foureria – Fuego (4, 5, 6, 7) – 22 points
- Romania – The Humans – Goodbye (7, 6, 5, 2) – 20 points
- Russia – Julia Samoylova – I Won’t Break (5, 3, 7, 2) – 17 points
- San Marino – Jessika feat. Jenfier Brening – Who We Are (1, 1, 2, 1) – 5 points
De Eurovisa is one of just a handful of Eurovision preview shows broadcast in the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest. In recent years Sweden has dropped their preview show, leaving Finland, San Marino, Germany, Iceland and Norway as the only nations broadcasting preview shows.

Finland first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961, they debuted alongside Spain and Yugoslavia. Finland has finished last in the contest on 10 occasions and has received ‘nul points’ three times. It wasn’t until 2006 that Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest, Lordi represented the country in Athens with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” scoring 292 points a record total at the time. Finland last performed in the final in 2014 when Softengine finished 11th with the song “Something Better”.
