The dates for Israel’s Eurovision pre-party Israel Calling have been revealed.
Israel Calling will take place from 8th-11th April, with the main event taking place on the 10th. This is the third year that the promotional party will take place, and, as always, the event will run for four days. In this time, artists will have the opportunity to explore Jerusalem, meet the Minister of Jerusalem Mr. Ze’ev Elkin, attend a red carpet event and press conference, as well as planting trees in the Eurovision Forest.
The main event will take place on the 10th April, in which all participants will perform their Eurovision entries for an Israeli audience. According to an official press release, a total of 25 artists have confirmed their participation in the event so far. Last year a total of 28 artists went to Israel as part of their promotional tour. The participating artists will be released on the Israel Calling social media channels.
Yuval Rotem, General Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said:
The state of Israel is proud to host the artists of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in relation to the 70th anniversary since its declaration of independence, and to expose the Israeli public to the artists, which will give them love for sure. This meeting is an opportunity for you to experience and celebrate our 70th anniversary and to get to know Israel and the Israeli people, the rich and diverse culture we have here. For us, it’s an opportunity to get to know your cultures that you represent in your countries and abroad and to create connections between our cultures and nations. I wish the participants more collaborations in the future with the rich and full of energy Israeli culture. Douze Points for everybody!
The Israel Calling project was produced by Tali Eshkoli, and is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, the Ministry of Tourism, KKL, Herzliya Municipality and Tel Aviv Municipality.
