ZiBBZ have launched a weekly blog covering their journey towards the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
This years Swiss entrants in the Eurovision Song Contest are set to run a weekly blog charting their journey to this years contest in Lisbon, Portugal. Their first blog post gives an overview of what they’ve been up to since winning the selection process, next weeks blog will be looking at the music video shoot.
Zibbz is a duo from Zurich, Switzerland, made up of siblings Corinne and Stee Gfeller. The pair founded Zibbz in 2008, with Corinne acting as lead vocalist, and Stefan on drums and keyboard. Zibbz, whose name is based on the fact that they are siblings, had their own reality show about their lives in Los Angeles between 2011 and 2015, and in that time they released their first studio album Ready? Go!. Since then, they have produced their second studio album It Takes A Village, has written songs used in commercials and even wrote the official theme song for the 2012 Men’s World Floorball Championships in Zurich.
Zibbz will represent Switzerland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal in May. The pair were chosen after they won the Swiss national final show, a staggering 88 points ahead of second place. At the contest, they will be singing their song “Stones”. Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest
Switzerland hosted the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 a contest that they won. Lys Assia won the first contest with the song “Refrain”, it wasn’t until 1988 that Switzerland would win the contest again. At the contest in Dublin, it was Celine Dion with “Ne partez pas sans moi” who beat the United Kingdom to victory by just 1 point. In recent years Switzerland has finished last five times since 2004. In the past three years, Switzerland has failed to reach the final.
