Junior Eurovision 2017: Participants Begin Filming Postcards

The participants of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest have begun filming their postcards.

Today the first rehearsals have begun in Tbilisi, but in amongst the time they have at the Olympic Palace, the participants have been filming their postcards. The postcards are small clips that will be shown before each performance, and fill the gap as the participants get ready on stage.

Belarus’ broadcaster TVR have revealed pictures on their website of participant Helena Meraai preparing for her postcard shoot. Armenian participant Misha had also put some pictures on his Instagram story, as he documents his time at the contest. The format of the postcards hasn’t yet been revealed.

Preparation for the contest officially kicked off today with the first rehearsals from:

  • Albania
  • Armenia
  • Australia
  • Belarus
  • Cyprus
  • FYR Macedonia
  • Georgia
  • Ireland

Tomorrow the final eight countries will have their first rehearsals. These countries are:

  • Italy
  • Malta
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • The Netherlands
  • Ukraine

The design of the trophy was also revealed today. The trophy has been designed by Kjell Engman of Kosta Boda, and will be given to the winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year, and for subsequent years to come. Read more about it here.
