Maria Iside Fiore will represent Italy at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Let’s get to know a bit more about her.
Thirteen year old Maria Iside Fiore was born in 2004 in Carrara, Italy. She now lives in Sarzana, Liguria, where she attends the musical section of the local junior high school. As well as singing, Maria Iside dances in the Danzabilmente group (in which she has been a member of since she was four), plays clarinet and is also a member of the school choir.
She started her solo singing career in 2015, and since then has taken part in many competitions. In 2016 she was a finalist in “Cantagiro”, and earlier this year she once again took part, qualifying for the semi-finals. She also made her debut as an actress in a theatre production this year.
This November Maria Iside will represent Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia, after being internally selected by Italian broadcaster RAI. Her song “Scelgo” will be sang in Italian and English, and describes a young girl’s dilemmas about her future.
