Norma John are heading into tomorrow’s semi final with the single aim of reaching the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
In an interview with YLE, Leena stated that both herself and Laase are just aiming to make it through to the Saturday night. For Norma John the aim of their performance in the semi final is just to reach the final even if they go on to score nul points in the final. Leena added that if they do end up with nul points then there has been ‘no harm’ done in them competing in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Norma John won the Finnish national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2017 back in January, which meant that they would go on to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in May. With their song “Blackbird”, they hope to qualify for the final for the first time since 2014. The two performers have been friends since childhood and have been performing together for over a decade.
In recent years Finland has performed poorly in the contest, failing to make the final for the past two years. PKN finished last in their semi final in 2015, while Sandhja finished in 15th place in her semi final in Stockholm.
