Croatia: Uršula Tolj Announced as Spokesperson

Uršula Tolj will be revealing the results of the Croatian jury during the Grand Final of the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Uršula Tolj is returning as the Croatian spokesperson at the Eurovision Song Contest, for this years contest in the Ukrainian Capital, Kyiv. Uršula Tolj is a television presenter at HRT, the Croatian national broadcaster.

She first became involved in broadcast media in 1993 when she began worked at Radio Rijeka, she has worked for the Croatian national broadcaster since 1996. Alongside her work as a presenter she is also a writer of Children’s books.

Uršula will be announcing the results from Croatia for a third time this year. Between 2012 and 2013 she announced the Croatian results before being replaced by Nevena Rendeli when Croatia returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016.

Croatia’s best result came in 1999 when Doris Dragovic finished 4th in Jerusalem. She performed the song “Marija Magdalena” which scored a total of 118 points, this included 12 points from Slovenia and Spain. Croatia returned to the contest in 2016 having withdrawn after the 2013 contest due to a string of poor results and financial difficulties. Nina Kraljic finished 23rd in the final, the highest points she received came in the form of 10 points from the Macedonian televote.
