San Marino RTV has revealed a few details of their plans for the performance of Valentina Monetta and Jimmie Wilson at Eurovision 2017.
San Marino has revealed a few details of their plans for this years Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. This years San Marinese entry is the dance song “Spirit of the Night”, which according to San Marino RTV is “a hymn to music, the fun, the fever of a Saturday night”. The Head of Delegation, Alessandro Capicchioni stated that for their performance on stage:
The style chosen for the stage will be that of a live concert, a simple choreography but with a nice power.
It was also revealed at the meeting in San Marino that the music video was filmed in Munich at the P1 nightclub. Valentina added about the song and her partnership with Jimmie Wilson that:
We are two spirits of the night. Ours is a duo black and white. We propose with old fashion piece but not too much, a black voice with a funky famous artist like me is a perfect mix,
Valentina has previously expressed her excitement to finally be able to take a song to Eurovision that she can “dance and dance too”. Come May Valentina wishes to be able to bring the message of the song to the Eurovision stage, to have fun and entertain despite everything that happens to us all.
About the Artists:
Valentina Monetta first represented San Marino in 2012 with the Social Network Song, returning in 2013 and 2014, only qualifying to the final once on her final attempt – the first time that San Marino had ever qualified to the final since debuting at the contest in 2008. In 2008 on San Marino’s first attempt, Valentina did attempt to represent the country but did not get selected. Valentina is one of only four artists to enter the contest on three consecutive occasions.
Jimmie Wilson has appeared in multiple musicals and shows, including a role-playing Barack Obama in ‘Hope’. Jimmie is an American artist currently living in Germany.
