Track of the Year 2016: The Nominees

The National Publishing and Broadcasting Collective’s Track of the Year is back and change has arrived.

In previous editions, you’ve been able to vote for your favourite songs of the year across eight categories for up to a month. This year, however, the categories have been scrapped making it tougher than ever before. Now, it’s a battle of survival. Each day two of the nominee tracks will go head to head fighting for your votes; the song with the fewest votes will be dropped, while the song with the most votes will go on to fight another day.

The Track of the Year 2016 will be announced on December 24th after the live four-hour long Wildcard Round. During the Wildcard Round the songs that have lastest longest, and the songs with the most votes from the selection, will return for one final battle against the last standing song for the award. Voting commenced today, Saturday the 3rd of December, as Saara Aalto and Galantis go head to head.

Last year, Kitty Brucknell won the event (formerly known as the ‘ESC News Track of the Year’), with her Moldovan National Final entry “Yearning”. Kitty, who rose to fame on the X Factor UK, also entered the 2015 Swiss National Selection.
