Ukrainian broadcaster STB have revealed details of their plans for their Eurovision 2017 selection show.
Following the success of their 2016 selection format, STB will continue to collaborate with another broadcaster, NTU, in an effort to build on the standard set by this year’s show. Indeed, according to the head of the selection Nataliyi Franchuk 2017’s effort will be even more ambitious, and has suggested that there will be extra shows added when the selection kicks off in February 2017.
The broadcaster has encouraged young, unknown Ukrainian artists to enter the competition, urging them not to be daunted by the participation of established names. Applications will open on September 1, and in October and November music producer and jury member Kostyantyn Meladze will visit the major cities of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa and Kyiv) to listen to all submitted entries.
Application forms for Ukraine’s selection will be available on STB’s official site from September 1.
