The preferred venue to host next years Eurovision Song Contest is looking at constructing a roof to ensure it can host Eurovision 2017.

The Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv is the preferred venue of both the Mayor of Kyiv and the Ministry of Sports in Ukraine. Yesterday the Minister of Sports Igor Zhdanov, visited the venue to inspect whether it would be suitable for the contest. Mr Zhdanov spoke to the owners of the Stadium who said that building a roof on the stadium can be done, they are currently looking into how much it will cost to build the roof.

Kyiv along with four other cities are all vying to host next years contest.
