Iveta Mukuchyan has pulled out of this weekends Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The representative for Armenia at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest has taken the decision due to conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. Iveta released a statement on her Facebook page which reads:
I have made the decision to cancel my upcoming performance in “Eurovision in Concert” in AMSTERDAM, as I mourn and pray for the peaceful Armenian people, who were horribly tortured and killed in The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. I pray for the bravest soldiers, who died while defending our kids, our parents, our independence. War crimes are a result of hate, indifference, lack of love and understanding. It is our duty to condemn such brutal aggression and preach for love and peace.
At the Russian Preview event in Moscow last weekend Iveta pulled out of all of the press events and the red carpet due to the conflict but still performed her song “LoveWave” at the concert.
