Ovidiu Anton wins in Baia Mare

Romania has selected Ovidiu Anton with the song “Moment of Silence” to represent them at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest.

Six acts competed tonight in Baia Mare in a 2.5 hour show to see who would represent Romania at Eurovision 2016. The winner tonight was decided by 100% after the semi final stage on Friday night where the jury selected four finalists and the public picked two.

Performing as interval acts during the show were; Zoli TOTH Project sang “Cocoon”, Horia Moculescu, Randi and Uddi performed the song “Vagabondul vieţii mele”, while Cezar (Romania 2013) performed a cover of the Eurovision 2014 winner “Rise Like A Phoenix”. Also performing tonight was this years Moldovan entrant Lidia Isac.

The running order for the final tonight is as follows:

  1. Florena – Behind The Shadows – 3rd
  2. Doru Todoruţ feat. Irina Baianţ – The Voice – 6th
  3. Dream Walkers – Let It Shine – 4th
  4. Vanotek feat. The Code & Georgian – I’m Coming Home – 2nd
  5. Ovidiu Anton – Moment Of Silence – 1st
  6. M I H A I – Paradisio – 5th
