Ahead of the semi finals of O Melodie Pentru Europa we caught up with Onoffrei. Onoffrei is competing in this years Moldovan selection alongside Andrei Ionița with the song “Lie”. Find out how the guys met and what their song is all about:
Thank you for talking to us, can you tell us a bit more about yourself and how you came into being a singer?
I am a senior at Technical University, speciality – “Woodworking” and I dream to graduate and to devote myself to music and everything related to its production.I began to sing when I was 5, humming different songs together with my family. So I can say I have a good experience in this domain.
You participated in Moldova Are Talent in 2014 what was it like performing for the judges and making it through the auditions?
The fact that I participated at “Moldova are Talent” 2014, was one of my first experiences of being on a stage, it’s something indescribable to be voted by the three jurors and to be watched by the whole country.
You are performing alongside Andrei Ionița who participated in X Factor Romania, how did you two first meet?
I met Andrei Ionița, the man who rocked at “X-FACTOR” România 2016, in a karaoke where we were invited by a mutual friend. And there was born the project ‘‘Lie’’. The work we’ve done before ‘‘Lie’’ was just improvisation that wasn’t officially released.
The song is called “Lie”, can you tell us what the song is about?
The song we’ll present at the Eurovision contest is called “Lie” and I think it belongs to “Trance-Folk”. This song presents a profound message for our country population that are forced to leave theit families and their homeland for a better life. ”Lie” is a shout of pain and an urge for change.
