Austria has become the first country in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest to finish the contest with nul points.
Austria joined Germany at the bottom of the board with 0 points, a feat that was last seen in 1997 when Norway and Portugal both ended with 0. Going into the final, the betting odds had Germany as one of the bottom three countries, while Austria was a surprise 0 point nation.
Overall it was not a good night for the Big 5 countries with France scoring just 4 points, the United Kingdom scored just 5, and Spain came 21st with 15 points. It was only Italy who managed to bring the Big 5 into the top.10 finishing third in tonight’s show with a total of 292 points.
