İctimai Televiziya the Azerbaijani national broadcaster has retracted a statement denying that Elnur Hüseynov will be participating in Eurovision 2015.
Elnur represented Azerbaijan on their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008. He performed alongside Samir with the song “Day after Day”, they finished in 8th place in Belgrade. In 2011 he returned again to attempt to represent Azerbaijan but failed to make it to the semi final stage.
Rumors about Elnur representing Azerbaijan come on the back of him winning the latest season of The Voice of Turkey.
ITV in the earlier statement said that:
ITV declare that we have not made a statement on this issue in any site. “Eurovision-2015” will be presented on well-known artist will give a public official statement on TV, the news of us sending Elnur Hüseynov is not true.
It is not known why ITV have decided to retract the statement.
