2015: The Year Ahead

As 2014 fades into the past and 2015 begins it is time to look forward to the events that are coming up in the year ahead. Here is a quick summary of all of the big and small events that we will be covering in 2015:

  • MGP Junior (Denmark) – February 14th – Denmark will once again be holding the national selection which kicked off Junior Eurovision. The 15th MGP Junior Contest will be coming live from Aalborg on the same stage used for the final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015.
  • Intervision Song Contest – May? – With a date still not announced and no news from the participating countries, we have Intervision attempting for a second time to launch again. After 2014 didn’t come to fruition, let’s see if it can get off the ground in 2015.
  • Eurovision Song Contest – May 21st – After Conchita rose, now we fly to Vienna, Austria for what promises to be a spectacular 60th anniversary contest. With Serbia the Czech Republic and Cyprus back we have a bigger contest than 2014.
  • ABU Radio Song Festival 2015 – May 29th – Just one week on from the Eurovision Song Contestb it’s off to Myanmar for the 2015 Radio Song Festival. The event will once again see some of Asia’s best unsigned artists performing live on TV and Radio.
  • Eurovision Young Dancers – June 19th – From Poland in 2013 we head south to the Czech Republic and the city of Pilsen. The bi-annual contest sees between 10-15 countries dancers aged between 16 and 21 competing to be crowned “Eurovision Young Dancer 2015”. We’ll be bringing you coverage of all of the selections and build up.
  • Melodi Grand Prix Junior – Last week of August – After a summer break from the international contests it is off to Norway for their 13th MGP.jr. Could it be that the 2015 will once again take to the Junior Eurovision stage for Norway?
  • Bundesvision – Last week of September – After the success of our 2014 coverage we will be delving in more detail into the domestic version of Eurovision in Germany. The contest which Bremen won last year will see the 16th Bundesland of Germany competing once again.
  • MGP Finland – First week of October – Finland’s former MGP Nordic selection is still going strong and will see a number of kids competing to be crowned the winner.
  • ABU TV Song Festival 2015 – October 28th – Nearing the end of the year it is off to the most eastern point of Asia, Istanbul in Turkey for the fourth ABU TV Song Festival. It will once again be interesting to see whether the festival will be transformed into a contest.
  • Junior Eurovision – November/December – The contest that is going from strength to strength will be back with what could be the largest contest to date. We’ve still not got a date or a venue but we cannot wait to see what JESC 2015 brings us.
  • Turkvision/Turkvizyon – November/December – After the triumph of the second contest in Kazan we are off to Mary, Turkmenistan for a show that you can never predict. It looks like the contest is likely to have between 20-30 countries competing.
