Melodifestivalen is set to see changes after the 2014 edition was the lowest viewed since 1999. According to Aftonbladet, the number of songs in each of the four semi finals will be cut from 8 to 7, bringing the overall number of songs down from 32 to 28. There will however be no change to the number of shows that occur or to Andra Chasen.
Furthermore a new method of voting will be introduced for 2015. An app will be launched by SVT which will allow viewers at home to support a song, the more that they tap on the app, the more votes that a song will get overall. It is not known exactly at this stage as to how many taps is the equivalent of one televote.
