Today the final of Svensktoppen Nästa 2014 will take place, with the winner automatically given a place in Sweden’s Melodifestivalen selection. A total of 130 artists have taken part in the selection process across Sweden, however only 8 have made it through to the final today. The 8 finalists are:
- Bullock Hearts – Bells & Whistles
- Stephanie Quint – If forever means forever
- Last Trees – Ways of Growing Old
- Kalle Johansson – Den där dan
- Elsa Martinsson – Alive
- MORGAN FÄRM – Honung
- Rebecca Fredriksson – When The blackbirds sing

The winner of the selection will be chosen by two rounds of voting. The first is made up of 50% televote and 50% jury vote. On the jury are:
- Rita Jernquist – P4 Music Editor
- Kerstin Behrendtz – Music Editor for Svergies Radio
- Kaj Kindvall – TV Host & Producer
- Christer Björkman – Sweden’s Head of Delegation
- Maths Broborg – Project Manager for Svensktoppen Nästa
- Anna Lidman – Memember of EKO, last years winners
In the second round the two songs which placed highest in the first round vote will go through to a 100% televote, the winner of this vote will then be declared winner of Svensktoppen Nästa 2014.

Well a lot of them definitely sound like traditional Melodifestivalen songs….there’s a few good ones but not many. I like Rebecca Fredriksson’s voice but the song is too cliché for me. Thankfully they can’t use these songs in Melodifestivalen because they were released too early.
