Josefin Winther who wrote Carl Espen’s song for Eurovision 2014 has released a brand new single “Last Amends”. After seeing her song “Silent Storm” reach top ten in Eurovision Song Contest, Josefin Winther returns to her roots with this live on tape release. PJ Harvey has been a popular reference among critics, and on this track she has worked closely with producer Mick Harvey. Known for his work with artists such as PJ Harvey, and as a founding member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
Last Amends was recorded in the legendary Tritonus Studio in Berlin. The performance is recorded live on tape with Josefin singing and playing the acoustic guitar and Mick Harvey playing the drums. This is Winther’s first release in two years, and gives you a hint of what’s to come later in 2014.
I highly recommend taking a listen to Josefin’s single, it has the same emotion that you see in Carl Espen’s song but takes it to a different place. Josefin and Carl truly are one of the best musical discoveries you can take out of this years contest. Josefin has revealed that Carl Espen will be releasing a new single later this month, which we are looking forward to.
