Here are the results of the first semi final of Eurovision 2014, the 10 finalists are:

  • Armenia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Hungary
  • Iceland
  • Montenegro
  • Netherlands
  • Russia
  • San Marino
  • Sweden
  • Ukraine

That means that left behind are:

  • Albania
  • Belgium
  • Estonia
  • Latvia
  • Moldova
  • Portugal

We’ll have the results of the semi final draw and press conferences shortly. Here are our initial reactions:

Anthony – Wow now that was nail biting, over the moon to see Montenegro and San Marino in the final for the first time. If I’m honest I never had San Marino or Iceland as going through, but Iceland’s message is brilliant. Sad to see that Estonia failed to get through. If this is what happens at the first semi final, then bring on the second semi final.

Mustafa – I’m surprised by San Marino and Iceland. Most if not all of my favourites managed to get through tonight and the final looks really good.

Scott – There were surprise qualifiers around tonight for San Marino and Montenegro both qualifying for the first time, with Iceland also slipping into the final.

Callum – I’m really not surprised at most qualifiers. The qualifiers we have provide meaningful songs, and most are solid entries. A great result, I feel.

  1. Biggest Surprise: San Marino. But this is the example for Monaco,Luxemburg and Andorra for Return the competition.

  2. – It just shows you just can’t predict eurovision, thats the magic and sheer thrill of it!

  3. Congrats San Marino, although I prefered other songs 😛 This means that some countries could return indeed 😀

And so happy with my own country, yeah 😀
