Super Sunday: France & Azerbaijan Decide, Belgium Continue Their Search

Today we find out another two entrants to Eurovision 2014 as both France and Azerbaijan reveal who will be going to Copenhagen and flying their flags. While in Belgium the second semi final of Eurosong takes place with two more acts qualifying for the final on March 16th.

The times for the shows tonight are:

• France – Les Chansons D’Abord – 17:00 CET
• Azerbaijan – Boyuk Sehne – 19:00 CET
• Belgium – Eurosong – 20:30 CET

It’s now been just over a month since the three songs in the running to represent France at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest were performed live on Les Chansons D’Abord. This year saw France return to an open national selection format for the first time since 2007.

The three acts in the running tonight are:

• Destan – Sans toi (Without you)
• Joanna – Ma liberté (My freedom)
• Twin Twin – Moustache

Voting closed in the selection on February 23rd, while a jury also holds 50% the say in who will make it to Copenhagen. You can watch the show live from 17:00 CET here.

Tonight Azerbaijan joins France in selecting their act for Eurovision 2014. This year has seen Azerbaijan use a brand new format for their selection process, Böyük Səhnə. The selection has been taking place since the 9th of February and has seen 14 whittled down to just 3 acts left in the contest.

The 3 acts left are:

• Khana Hasanova
• Dilara Kazimova – Impossible
• Erkin Osmanli

It has been said that the show which was recorded yesterday has had the results leaked, the winner of the contest according to a number of tweets featuring pictures of the end of the show, say that Dilara Kazimova has won the contest. The winner of the show is decided by a five member jury.

Finally in Belgium, their Eurosong selection process continues with the second semi final. Four acts will compete for just 2 places in the final. These acts and their songs are:

• SIL – What’s The Time In Tokyo
• Yass – Need You Tonight
• Axeela – Chasing Rainbows
• 2 Fabiola feat. Loredana – She’s After My Piano

The qualifiers will once again be decided by a jury made up of Bart Peeters, Piet Goddaer, Jef Martens and Ruslana as well as a televote.
