
2014 is going to be another brilliant year to Eurovision, but also a number of other contests. So here is a round-up of what you have to look forward to throughout 2014.
Eurovision 2014 – May 6, 8 & 10
It’s the first big event of the year and the one that we look forward to throughout the year. Eurovision 2014 will be coming to us live from Copenhagen, Denmark. In the build up to the contest we’ll be bringing you interviews with the participants, updates of the national selections, as well as general rumors and gossip from around the Eurovision world. We also will be trying to bring you our Twitter commentary of as many national selections as possible. Remember, you can get all of the news right here at Eurovoix.
ABU Radio Song Festival – May 24
It’s turning out to be quite a busy May, 3 contests in just 3 weeks. It’s also again the first time we will be covering the event, but already we’ve given you exclusive news that Bhutan will not be taking part in the contest. We’ll be bringing you information from across Asia about who is taking part and try to bring you interviews with some of the participants. Join us as we cover the ABU Radio Song Festival 2014, from Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Eurovision Young Musicians – May 31
It’s the first year that we will be covering Eurovision Young Musicians, we will be bringing you news from the national selection process’ from across Europe as well as trying to bring you interviews with the lucky few who will be performing in Cologne. We hope that you join us, as we cover Eurovision Young Musicians 2014.
Bundesvision – September
The Bundesvision Song Contest is a contest that before now has been a one-off post on the website, this year it’ll be different. We want to bring you news from the participants, the regions and the contest. Bundesvision is a domestic contest with Germany, that was created by Stefan Raab in 2005, the 2014 contest will be taking place in Hamburg.
ABU TV Song Festival – October
The ABU TV Song Festival returns for its third edition this time going to Macau. The event at this stage is still expected to be a Gala of well-known artists from across the ABU member channels. There have however been hints that the contest may turn into a competitive event in the near future.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest – November/December
While the date for Junior Eurovision 2014 may not have been revealed, we know that it’s off to Malta. Malta won the 2013 contest with Gaia Cauchi and “The Start”. Already since the 2013 contest we’ve brought you news about a number of countries who may be in Malta and those who have said they are not interested in the contest. Our aim for 2014 is to bring you interviews with all of the acts taking part in the contest and maybe even make it out to Malta.
Turkvizyon Song Contest – December
Turkvizyon is scheduled to return for its second contest in Kazan, Tatarstan in December. In 2013 we proved that there was an interest in the contest bringing you news from across the participating countries as they held their national selections and as artists we’re revealed. In 2014 we’ll be bringing you news from the national selections, the artists and also bringing you more interviews as the contest draws closer to Kazan.
