DR the broadcaster has requested that the EBU allow Norway and Sweden to be put in separate semi finals. The reference group for the contest unanimously allowed this to occur to enable that the tickets were fairly distributed in the Nordics. The same occured at the 2010 contest when Norway hosted the contest and the 2013 contest when Sweden hosted the contest.
Sweden will now participate in the first semi final, while Norway will be in the second semi final.
