RTS of Serbia have confirmed this afternoon that they will not be taking part in Eurovision 2014. The broadcaster which is in deep financial issues took the decision after long discussions.
Serbia debuted at the contest in 2007 winning with the song “Molitva”, however they will not be able to replicate this in 2014 as RTS were unable to find any sponsors willing to back Eurovision in Serbia. This year Serbia got knocked out at the semi final stage for the first time since 2009.

RTS have very big financial issues, they are over staffed and very inefficent. They do not have the funds to afford ESC. If another channel can step in to do the national final or an artist steps forward to say they want to go to Copenhagenn. Then we could see them in Copenhagen.
