Eurosong will be the selection process for Ireland once again. As with previous years a total of five acts will be taking part in the contest, these fives acts will be chosen by five mentors. The mentors have been revealed as:
- Aslan guitarist – Billy McGuinness
- Singer and songwriter – Hazel Kaneswaran
- RTÉ 2fm presenter and Kerbdog frontman – Cormac Battle
- Band manager – Valerie Roe
- Tour manager – Mark Murphy
The Late Late Show Eurosong 2014 will take place on the 28th of February. The Mentors have to submit their acts by January 3rd to RTE, whilst the song must be recorded and submitted by February 3rd.
Since using the mentors system Ireland has made it to the final every year, their best result came in 2011 when Jedward finished 7th in Dusseldorf, however in 2013 Ireland finished last in the final with just 5 points.

Yeah Ryan made a slight mess of the jury final, if it hadn’t been for that it could have been a very good result for Ireland.
