“Rossiya” the Russian TV Channel in charge of Eurovision has revealed a new selection process for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. “Kto?” which translates as “Who?” will be a 2 month long selection process that will see 25 songs chosen to take part in a final on December 31st.
The songs which will be selected to take part in the final have been asked to be “in trend with European music, but with Russian elements” to them. Furthermore they have confirmed that the Russian public will have a say in who will win the contest. The Press release states that “Only the public will select the winner”, however the rules state a jury will also decided the winner.
We are waiting to see if this discrepancy is clarified.
