Only 172 songs have been entered into SF this year as part of their Eurovision Portal, this hugely down from the 302 songs entered in 2011 as part of the broadcasters selection. These 172 songs will be whittled down to just 4 who will go through to the Swiss National Final on December 15th.
There are still a number of famous faces who have made an appearance in this years selection. Here is a breakdown of a just a few of them:
Lys Assia:
She is back again this year with the rap group NewJack, the song that she has entered is called “All In Your Head” and is penned by the famous lyricist Ralph Seigel. Assia entered last year with her French language ballad “C’etait Ma Vie”.
Magdalena Tul:
The 2010 Polish entrant is hoping to represent Switzerland in 2013 with her pop number “Give It Up”. She will be hoping to do better than she did in Düsseldorf where she came last in her semi-final.
Mariella Farré:
The two times Eurovision entrant from Switzerland in 1983 and 1985 is back 37 years after her last attempt at Eurovision with her song “One Of A Kind”. If she makes it to the final she will be the act with the longest time between their most recent Eurovision appearance and their comeback.
